This year marks the debut of Ohana- a two-day music festival at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, CA – featuring scheduled performances by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, singer-songwriter Elvis Costello, pop songstress Lana Del Rey, rock group Band of Horses, L.A. punk pioneers X, and many more.
Confirmed by the producers, capacity is limited to only 12,000. “Opportunities to create something so pure and special with people that you have immense respect for don’t come along often — Ohana is that creation,” said Live Nation’s President of Booking Los Angeles, Rich Best. “Ohana brings together a very unique collection of music and culture in a setting that could not be any more beautiful. It’s something very different than anything happening in today’s festivals. It’s family. Ohana.”
Here is the daily Ohana Music Festival lineup announced thus far:
August 27: Eddie Vedder, Elvis Costello, Band Of Horses, X, Mudhoney, White Reaper, Jack Irons, Lily Meola, and more.
August 28: Lana Del Rey, City and Colour, Cat Power, Corinne Bailey Rae, Ryan Bingham, Jonny Two Bags, Wilderado and more.
In addition to offering a full day in the sun with a diverse music lineup, Ohana will donate a portion of proceeds to the San Onofre Parks Foundation, a California non-profit that cooperatively works with the California State Parks to develop, preserve and enhance the recreation and experience of California’s unique and beautiful coastal parks. Festival general admission allows roaming throughout the lush grass areas of Doheny State Beach, right off the shore of the Pacific Ocean, touching the sand.
Aside from the live entertainment, promoters Live Nation and Orange County-based company Synergy Global Entertainment (SGE) will bring in numerous local craft beer, wine and artisan food vendors. Pro surfer and World Surf League Champion Kelly Slater will curate a surf and ocean-awareness exhibit, which will be accessible to guests within the festival area.
A limited number of VIP passes will also be available. The VIP ticketing option includes 1-day festival entry, VIP Lounge admission with expedited festival entry, a VIP laminate and access to the Ohana VIP Lounge, inclusive of a hosted cocktail bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres (while supplies last), comfortable lounge seating with shaded areas, cabanas to hang out and relax in, private restrooms and a dedicated cash bar. Attendees must be 21+ to get into the VIP Lounge.
Craft beer, wine, and signature cocktails, as well as artisan food options from local restaurants and food trucks will be available all day long.
