ANN WILSON OF HEART
Ann Wilson has extended her acclaimed Ann Wilson Of Heart Tour! The iconic vocalist will make tour stops in Chicago, San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas and Atlanta, among other cities. “Expect to see some Heart songs, amazing covers, and new songs that I’ve written,” Ann recently stated in an interview with WHAT’S UP? MAGAZINE (Maryland). “They’ll see things that really influenced me and they’ll see me stretching out as a singer and improving, hopefully.” She went on to explain her song selections for the tour to Offbeat (Louisiana): “I just stretch out, try stuff…Cool lyrics. Tender, human lyrics. Meaningful for the times…It’s cool to find some things that really represent how I feel now.”
Musicians joining the Ann Wilson Of Heart tour are Craig Bartock on guitar (Heart member for a dozen years, who also performed in the Ann Wilson Thing for two years) from San Francisco; Andy Stoller on bass (the Ann Wilson Thing member for two years) from Seattle; Denny Fongheiser on drums and percussion (Heart member in the 1990’s for two years) from Los Angeles; and Dan Walker on keys.
Throughout her career, Ann has created a truly impressive body of work, including “Crazy On You,” “Barracuda,” “Magic Man,” “Dog & Butterfly,” “Straight On,” “Even It Up,” “Mistral Wind,” and many more. However, her greatest gift, and first “calling” is singing. Her voice is considered to be among the best ever, with its vast range, amazing power and sheer musicality. It has inspired legions of great singers, across every genre of music. Don’t miss her this summer!

BACKUP PLANET
Backup Planet are on the move for their 2017 tour. The Nashville, TN quartet, Ben Cooper [keys, vocals], Chris Potocik [drums, vocals], Gavin Donati [guitar, vocals], and Blake Gallant [bass, vocals] are having an extremely exciting year with their recently released sophomore album titled Reactions.
About Reactions
To fully grasp Reactions, listeners need to hear the story leading up to it’s creation. Just a few weeks following a huge milestone in their career, tragedy struck Backup Planet.
“I had a weird sense of premonition,” admits Ben. “We had just left a show, and within 30 seconds, our van was flipped over on the interstate sliding. There were sparks, glass, and metal flying everywhere and people screaming. Fortunately, we were all alive, but we lost our van, gear, and trailer. It flipped a lot of stuff figuratively and literally on its side.”
Rather than engage audiences via crowd-funding, the band quietly saved throughout the rest of the year by performing local headline gigs to re-build their infrastructure. Bruised but not broken, they entered Syncromesh Studios in Birmingham, AL with producer Jason Elgin [Collective Soul, Maylene & The Sons of Disaster,] to record Reactions during 2016. In just three weeks, they tracked everything analog the old-fashioned way.

BRIAN SETZER
Iconic guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and 3-time Grammy-award-winner Brian Setzer will launch his “Rockabilly Riot!” tour, June 7 in San Diego, CA. Armed with Stray Cats gems like “Rock This Town,‘” “Rumble In Brighton” and “Stray Cat Strut” plus other electrifying songs like “Let’s Shake” from his latest solo studio album Rockabilly Riot!: All Original, Setzer will also make stops in Las Vegas, Chicago and Atlantic City, among other cities throughout the U.S., before heading overseas in July.
Setzer will be joined by Noah Levy on drums, Kevin McKendree on piano/guitar and Mark Winchester on bass. “When you look up rockabilly in the dictionary there is a picture of Mark Winchester,” notes Setzer. “He grew up slapping the bass and is in a class of his own. The relationship with the drummer and the bass player in rockabilly is very unique. The slap bass is a rhythmic sounding instrument, so the drummer has to be very in time with him in order not to sound sloppy. Noah Levy is a very on-the-beat solid drummer, whereas me, as a guitar player, I push everything while they hold it all in place. And when you’re talking about the great rockabilly piano players, it’s a very short list, and Kevin McKendree is on it. And he also plays guitar incredibly well. We all just complement each other.”

LOST FREQUENCIES
May 26 – June 10
Belgian hit machine, Lost Frequencies re-enters the U.S. this May with a hot new remix of his track “All Or Nothing” by Afrojack & Ravitez and as support on select dates of The Chainsmokers #MemoriesTour 2017 arena trek. Additionally, he’ll be appearing on the bill of two major festivals, Hangout Festival & EDC Las Vegas.
Felix de Laet a.k.a. Lost Frequencies, is quickly gaining recognition for producing a new and intuitive style of quality music. It’s hard to believe that he began producing in earnest just 3 years ago, after getting his very first MacBook Pro. Growing up in a musical family, Felix played piano alongside his brothers from a young age. Never one to settle in place, de Laet takes his inspiration from hip-hop, to jazz, to drum and bass. He listens to everything and lets his broad taste inform his musical decisions.
He loves to incorporate the old (Lost Frequencies) into exciting remixes, and this love quickly turned into the need to produce original compositions. With several upcoming tracks on Armada and strong YouTube support, the breakthrough of Lost Frequencies is at hand. So make sure to check him out this summer!

TOMMY EMMANUEL
May 26 – August 2
Give a listen to “Old Photographs,” the closing track on Tommy Emmanuel’s, It’s Never Too Late, and you’ll hear the distinctive squeak of finger noise as he runs his hands across the frets of his Maton Signature TE guitar. Many musicians would edit those imperfections out, but to Emmanuel, those imperfections are perfect. A master technician, Emmanuel started professionally at age 6, rising through the ranks as a studio player and member of several Australian rock bands before he set off on a solo career. One of only five musicians handpicked by his mentor, Chet Atkins, as a Certified Guitar Player (CGP), he’s piled up numerous accolades, including two Grammy nominations, two ARIA Awards from the Australian Recording Industry Association (the Aussie equivalent of the Recording Academy) and repeated honors in the Guitar Player magazine reader’s poll. A noted fingerstyle guitarist, Emmanuel frequently threads three different parts simultaneously into his material, operating as a one-man band who handles the melody, the supporting chords and the bass all at once.
His talents, which translate in any language, carry him to the far corners of the globe, but Emmanuel never plays the same show twice, and he improvises big chunks of every date. That leaves him open to those technical imperfections, though they also provide some of the humanity to an other-worldly talent. Tommy Emmanuel is currently touring and you can find the ticketing information and list of tour dates, here.

One of South East London’s most closely guarded secrets has recently emerged from the shadows and is set to take the music industry by storm. Known only as TroyBoi, this multi-talented musician recently signed to Timbaland’s right-hand man and US Super Producer, Jim Beanz, things are heating up faster than ever! Producing a wide variety of genres, but specializing in extraordinarily unique, versatile, and highly musical trap beats, TroyBoi is without a doubt one of the top up-and-coming producers in the game right now and it’s quite clear from his composition that his influences are vast indeed. He is also one half of the Producer/DJ duo SoundSnobz with one of his best friends, icekream and together they craft the most creative and daring audio paintings you’ll ever listen to. Buckle up and get ready to be taken into the world of TroyBoi because once you are in, you will never want to get out.
After concluding his Mantra Tour in March, you won’t want to miss out as Troyboi this summer, who LA WEEKLY called one of the “best” at EDC 2016–will be making appearances at various festivals across the U.S. including Lightning In A Bottle, Buku Music & Art Project, Electric Forest and Middlelands. Recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Yes, have announced the 2017 outing of Yestival, their annual summer tour! This year will feature a set list of the greatest hits from all of the band’s studio albums up to 1980, showcasing the storied history of one of the world’s most influential, ground-breaking, and respected progressive rock bands.
On this summer’s annual trek, Yes, Steve Howe (guitar), Alan White (drums), Geoff Downes (keyboard), Jon Davison (vocals) and Billy Sherwood (the late Chris Squire’s chosen successor on bass)–will treat fans to such hits as “Roundabout” and “Starship Trooper,” performing gems off every album from 1969’s Yes to 1980’s Drama.

Yestival will feature special guest Todd Rundgren and an opening set from Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy honoring the magic of Keith Emerson and Greg Lake. The tour kicks off August 4 in Greensboro, NC and will travel across the U.S. through early September, stopping in such markets as Baltimore, Philadelphia, Brooklyn (August 11 at the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk), Pittsburgh, Detroit, Cleveland, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Los Angeles (August 29 at the Microsoft Theater), with more to be announced soon.
