FRED THOMAS HAS “BAD BLOOD”

Fred Thomas, who some might call a genius behind the curtain, has just signed with Polyvinyl Records for the release of his first solo LP titled All Are Saved. Fred Thomas is the guitarist, founder and artistic director of Michigan’s indie pop band Saturday Looks Good to Me who has consistently kept up his share of experimental side projects is now venturing deeper into his independent works with the aforementioned releases. Infamous as an artist that keeps a low profile, blowing through town with little notice, Fred Thomas is an act to watch. Check out his first single from All Are Saved, titled “Bad Blood” below:

All Are Saved is technically Thomas’s eighth solo album but the first under his new record label and the first that will have the opportunity to reach a wider audience. The technicalities of this album’s sound are fantastically underlined in this official statement:

Fred’s dabblings in melancholic chamber pop (SLGTM), ambient electronics (City Center), jangly but angular guitar playing (Failed Flowers), experimental production and jaw-droppingly confessional lyricism are all distilled into one unflinching statement.

Additionally the album explores Thomas’s intimate, realistic understanding of his own life by calling on sounds and inspirations commonly attached to his name. Still, the album is able to contribute new ideas to his own reputation as well as the music landscape altogether. Be sure to catch an appearance by Thomas during his upcoming tour in the US South, beginning with an atypical start in Chicago on March 11. Full date list below:
