Further Future 002 announces dates for 2016

First-year events are always tough, especially in America’s already over-saturated music festival market. Last year, Further Future went deep into the desert for a new kind of festival, a relative of Burning Man but concurrently an event all its own. Held less than an hour north of the Vegas strip, on a flat desert patch of the Moapa River Indian Reservation, the event hosted CEOs of world-beating tech companies and more than 70 acclaimed musical acts, all sharing their art and cultures cast against a dreamy desert backdrop. Named ‘Best Music Festival’ of 2015 by the Las Vegas Weekly, Further Future has announced its 2016 dates. Further Future will return to the Mojave desert from April 29 to May 1, 2016 for the next chapter in its music fest journey.

Acts included Bob Moses, Com Truise, Desert Sound Colony, Hundred Waters, John Tejada, Kiasmos, Little People, Miguel Migs, Nosaj Thing, Rhye, Rob Da Bank, The Orb, Thugfucker, Tim Hecker, Warpaint, and Zhu in addition to inspiring talks from Astro Telleher, the head of Google(x) and Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappas. The performers discussed the future of cities, urban renewal, technology, and the future of music. Compelling workshops were held during the day, while days turned into nights and back into mornings through the flow of ambient artists playing well into brunch. Founded by the crew that created Robot Heart, the pioneering, cultural force within the electronic music community, producers aimed to move beyond the confines of a traditional music festival. The festival seeks to bring together world-class musicians and artists, paired with inspiring thought leaders in subjects such as science, innovation, tech, and entrepreneurship to create a community of likeminded individuals open to cultural exploration and change.

Last year was an utter success and producers are determined to bring another spring of music festival modernization to the desert. To stay on top of Further Future, sign up for their newsletter Further Futurist and find them on social media for more info and ticket codes.
