Canada’s best loved festival celebrates 10 years of Escapade Music Festival in Ottawa and their biggest edition yet. DNA Live and Live Nation have partnered to bring you the 10th edition of this two-day festival. This year’s event will be held from Saturday, June 22 to Sunday, June 23, 2019 at TD Place in Ottawa. The program will deliver a new experience, a new design, and additions.
Escapade Music Festival
Escapade is dedicated to the development of the electronic music scene. Furthermore, the event will be held in the nation’s capital and will be presented on 4 distinct stages: the main stage, the bass stage, the trance stage, and the Dreambox stage. The Dreambox stage will be devoted to local and emerging artists.
FestPop even got the opportunity to ask the owner of Escapade Music Festival a few questions to learn more about the festival and its’ history.
This is Escapades 10th year celebration. What additions make this the biggest one yet?
“There are multiple factors that make this year our biggest year yet. For starters, this year our lineup is arguably the best and strongest lineup we have programmed in the last 10 years. We have 2 of the biggest acts in the world right now (not just in electronic music), in DJ Snake & Martin Garrix, headlining our 10th anniversary. On top of that, we have a completely new stage layout this year with our 2nd Stage (Bass) which we think will be a big hit with our fans.”
What marketing strategies have you used that brings the most ticket sales in?
“We have strongly utilized our partnership with Beachclub, who has an extremely strong presence and reach in the Quebec market in our marketing initiatives. On top of that, we have been able to use our Artists social media channels to promote the festival which expands our reach exponentially.”
What makes Escapade the festival to choose to go to this summer over other festivals in Canada?
“You will always feel at home when you come to Escapade Music Festival. Escapade is a place where you can come and forget everything else going on in your life and just let loose and enjoy yourself, the music and the experience. The top tier international talent and production doesn’t hurt either.”
Where did Escapade start. How big was the inaugural event?
“Escapade Started in 2010, in a downtown Ottawa parking lot, with a few hundred people and barely any production. It’s been a great experience seeing the festival grow and become what it is today.”
Can you tell me more about the Escapade Club Series?
“The Escapade Club Series, is a series of After Parties that we do on both nights of the festival. These events are held in multiple venues across the city and feature different genres of electronic music at each venue. We usually do 3-4 events per night; which also lets us showcase the nightclubs and venues Ottawa has to offer.”
Lineup
The 10th anniversary line-up will be undoubtedly the most impressive ever according to the owner of Escapade. It’ll include a wide range of artists, covering musical genres such as electronic, bass, house, trance and trap and artists. Expect artists including Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, Tchami, Malaa and Zeds Dead, to name a few. An out-of-the-ordinary experience is to be expected.
Since the inaugural Festival, Escapade has grown, with more artists, more spectators and a longer run. Above all, the event has been consecrated as a first-rate North American festival by adding unique elements such as the Escapade Club series and by welcoming more than 30,000 participants.
