Thousands of music lovers travelled from all over to spend Labor Day Weekend in El Paso. Each of the three stages in Ascarate Park provided a wide variety of top notch music.

Here are FestPop’s top moments from Sun City Music Festival:

TJR declaring El Paso the Craziest Crowd in the Country

This year was TJR’s third year in a row to play Sun City Music Festival and made sure to include several genres in his set. His ability to mix from Melbourne to Big Room House to Trap definitely got the crowd going. He took a break during his to thank everyone and make sure that El Paso knew that that he thought they were the craziest crowd in the country. El Paso has always shown a lot of love for TJR whenever he comes into town and it is great to see an artist show his appreciation for the fans.

Zeds Dead Dropping Brand New Music
The Canadian duo known as Zeds Dead brought some next level bass music to the Main Stage of Sun City. The first song that they played was a new track that they made featuring Murs called “One time”. Everyone in the crowd definitely took notice of the song when it dropped. Zeds Dead’s set was definitely one of the hardest of the weekend as well as very entertaining since it was full of so many unreleased tracks. Zeds Dead continues to produce some of the most innovative sounds in dance music and we can’t get enough of it!

Slander’s playing “Love Again” during a Beautiful El Paso Sunset
The Main Stage crowd was full of energy early on Saturday as Slander took the Main Stage.  The highlight of Californian duo’s set had to be when they played the song “Love Again” while the sun was setting on Ascarate Park. The song’s lyrics “We’re dancing in the Sunset” made for an epic moment to sing along to that the crowd loved.  Derek Andersen of Slander made sure to let the crowd know that Sun City was one of their favorite festivals that they had ever played for.

ODESZA’s magical performance

Words cannot describe the vibes of an ODESZA set. Their live sets are simply incredible. The way that they incorporate live instruments with beautiful synths into their performance is beyond artistic. Anyone that has experienced their live sets understands why they have become one of the most talked about artists on the festival circuit. Sun City could not get enough of the talented group and left everyone at the Bass Dune Stage cheering for more.

Borgore bringing Jauz out for the last set on the Bass Dunes

Jauz had performed for the first time at Sun City on the Main Stage earlier in the evening before joining Borgore during his set to close out the Bass Dunes Stage. The Buygore artists definitely made sure that Ascarate Park got a good taste of some bass music and heavy dubstep. Borgore’s set was filled with a wide variety of tracks of all kind of different styles matched with hilarious internet meme visuals.  The genre-bending composer once again proved that he is a tastemaker capable of showcasing some incredible talent in the dance music industry.

Hardwell bringing Yellow Claw on stage and closing out the festival
DJ Mag’s #1 DJ in the World closed out the festival on Sunday night and did not disappoint. Hardwell brought out fellow Dutch-artists, Yellow Claw, for when he played “Till it Hurts” for everyone in the crowd to sing along. The Revealed Recordings head honcho had everyone at Sun City “Go Hardwell or Go Home!” and El Paso definitely went hard.
