CloZee Brings Her Evasion Tour to Detroit

DETROIT — Last Wednesday, at Saint Andrews Hall, a crowded basement of electronic music fans was warped into another reality of emotion and sound. CloZee, the rising electronic star from the south of France, sunk her roots into the basement venue on that rainy, autumn night and guided fans through an astral journey of lights, lasers and sound.

The iconic underground venue was the perfect location for the second night of her two-night run in Michigan. The basement stage is best known in Detroit for being one of the first places Eminem crafted his art, and it warmly welcomed new-comer, CloZee, and her unique bass sound. It might have been a cold and rainy night outside, but inside it was buzzing with heat as the 21-year-old artist put the crowd in a psychedelic trance with her hypnotic lights and organic sound.

Although CloZee has been in the music scene for a few years now, the past six months have signaled a major rise in the young artist’s career. She has become ingrained in bass music culture having opened for Bassnectar several times in 2017. But it was her impromptu move to the second largest stage at Electric Forest this past summer that gave her mass exposure to a much larger and diverse crowd of electronic music fans. Both her sets from the festival have been streamed hundreds of thousands of times on SoundCloud. And as a result she continues to sell out shows all over the country on her Evasion Tour. She was easily the surprise favorite of Electric Forest 2018 and her return to Michigan has been highly anticipated by fans from all areas of the electronic spectrum.

There has been clear growth and development in her last three visits to this region of the country (Electric Forest, Resonance Music Festival and the Evasion Tour). She is definitely an artist to watch and this next festival season you can expect to see her name featured higher on popular festival lineups. Chloe Herry and her loyal following of fans dubbed the “CloZee Tribe,” will be a powerful presence at festivals in 2019.

Tour dates and tickets to the Evasion Tour can be found on the official website, www.clozeemusic.com.
