Dubfire
Formerly known as 1/2 of Deep Dish, Dubfire will forever be remembered as one of the artists to close out Toronto’s legendary Guvernment Nightclub. The founder of SCI+TEC records has constantly put out tracks for over a decade of his solo career. With massive festivals under his belt like Ultra Music Festival, Movement Detroit, and Aim Festival, Electric Island is sure to kick off the summer season with a notable legend such as Dubfire.

DJ Minx
DJ Minx got her start at The Music Institute in Detroit, where she was able to build her DJ skills and connect with other artists. She’s hosted and engineered radio shows both in Detroit and at a Canadian University for several years. In 1996, Minx founded Women on Wax, an artist collective featuring female artists in the metro Detroit area. She worked directly with promoters and DJs in order to solidify the careers of several top female DJs. Minx also founded her own record label in 2001 called Women on Wax Recordings, which became a platform her own productions and local talent in Detroit. Today, DJ Minx has over three decades of the music industry under her belt.

Carlo Lio & Nathan Barato
Carlo Lio’s discography has exploded ever since his remix of Dubfire and Oliver Huntemann‘s track “Diablo” released. He has been featured on labels like SCI+TEC, Bedrock Records, and Intec Digital and collaborated with artists like DJ Sneak, Carl Cox and Nicole Moudaber. Nathan Barato’s success in the electronic scene has been credited to his diversity in funky techno and 90’s garage samples. He’s played at venues like CODA Nightclub (Toronto) and Fabric (London) and has been on Festival lineups for BPM (Mexico) and Ultra Miami. Together, the two artists have recently released their single “Ghetto Drums” on Rawthentic Records. This is a track you can expect to hear during their back-to-back set at Electric Island!

DJ Sneak
Originally from Puerto Rico, Sneak came to Chicago with his family in the 80’s and naturally gravitated towards house music and graffiti art in his younger years. In the late 80’s, most of DJ Sneak’s inspiration and local talent had left the city for the East Coast. In 1992, Cajmere aka Green Velvet founded Cajual Records in order to regain momentum in the electronic scene. With several features on Cajmere’s sister label Relief Records, they both aided in the resurrection of house music during that era. Sneak has played at massive events such as Time Warp Brasil, Audio Farm Festival and Lost Social Festival. With his return to Toronto at the Moog Stage, Electric Island will be an event to remember.
