Festival season is near and what better way to kick off summer than the return of the Electric Island series. The annual summer festival is back to celebrate their seventh season. This year, they welcome an exciting list of both local and international techno and house heroes. Headliners include the third-time return of Dirtybird label-head Claude Vonstroke and UK house icon Hot Since 82. Newcomers like lo-fi Swedish producer DJ Seinfield and cutting edge UK duo Dusky will also be performing this season.
Electric Island is no ordinary festival, it’s an experience. People come together to immerse themselves in music and make memories under the hot summer sun. Electric Island celebrates with events on May 19, June 22, August 10, and rounds up with a two-day festival finale on August 31 and September 1. On each date, the festivities begin at 2:00PM. Guests begin the adventure by enjoying a ferry ride across Lake Ontario, taking in the picturesque landscape of Toronto’s skyline.
The season opener on Sunday May 19th, features Dubfire, Bedouin and DJ Minx on the main stage, with Toronto locals Carerra & Tavares opening up the day, with their infectiously deep and bouncy beats as they return to Electric Island for their second time. On June 22nd, you’ll see names like Seth Troxler, DJ Harvey, Blond:ish and Pony. The day vibes continue with Toronto natives Addy, Alpha State, Andy Cue, Arman & Beynon, Casualities of Sound, Diana McNally, Gera, Hauy, Jackie Spade, Jeremy Stott, and many more. These local talents are notorious for keeping their crowd in an euphoric frenzy.
Before hitting the dance floor, there is a huge variety of food truck options to taste. Most offer delicious cuisine accompanied by lots of grassy space to bring a blanket and relax on. The venue offers other enjoyable activities like face painting and fortune readings. There is also a hippy market on site, which includes products like crystal, candles, jewelry and apparel. These little goodies double as incredible souvenirs.
See you on the island!
