The 6th annual EDM festival–Something Wicked–held at Sam Houston Race Park, is concentrating efforts on initiatives to benefit Hurricane Harvey relief funds for the community.

The festival headliners, artists and staff teamed up to help the community by aiming to raise more than $165,000 for hurricane relief funds. It is absolutely beautiful to see the local festival go above and beyond to do their part to help the community in the midst of such tragedy.

Hurricane Harvey hit Houston back in August and left thousands without food, clothing and shelter. The community has since united to help anyone and everyone in need and Something Wicked artists and staff want to do their part as well. The donation initiative of $165,000 includes $95,000 to the Houston Food Bank in artist donations and $25,000 to the Salvation Army from Disco Donnie Presents.

At the festival, there will be a food drive to benefit the Salvation Army and it will be amazing if everyone attending does their part to help the community.  Festival staff also reached out to help by contributing labor donations to Habitat for Humanity.

“It is in times of need that we discover the full impact of the electronic music fan community,” said Donnie Estopinal of Disco Donnie Presents. When we all do our part to help the community, the world becomes a better place.
