The Delaware Junction—the three-day, two-stage country music and camping festival took place this past weekend in Harrington, DE—and proved that country vibes are alive and well. The festival was led by a monster lineup including Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Toby Keith, Lee Brice, Cole Swindle, Thomas Rhett, and more.delaware-junction

The festivities kicked off on Friday with near perfect weather paired with tasty food and beer, perfect for quenching your thirst in the thick festival heat. By Saturday, the party was in full swing with a mixture of seasoned country music lovers sprawled on blankets with a youthful crowd eager to stand and dance, conjoining old style country with modernism. The News Journal stated “the Delaware Junction Country Music Festival has already established itself as one of the most fun-loving summertime bashes in the state.”

Florida Georgia Line closed down Sunday’s show with an energy-packed set. The crowd let loose their last bit of liveliness for the final set, as most spent their days enjoying the music and the festivals’ fringe activities like foam parties, the vertigo swing, and a giant water slide set in the middle of the grounds to play on. Oh, and drinking tons of Bud Light at the beer garden and at their campsites. If you’re not too keen on country music, there was still plenty to do. The junction market was filled with merch to show off your country pride with festival fashion including Bella & Chloe and Pretty Hunter. The Mailbu Rum House brought a custom-built  beach house to the party accompanied with specialty cocktails and games.  When the main stage ended, the party continue at the Next From Nashville stage with top touring DJ/producer, Dee Jay Silver.

Koozies were common and the food was plentiful. With a variety of food including local favorites like Frankie’s Gourmet Pizza, UDairy Creamery, Asian Sensation, Big Mama’s, Jimmy’s Grille, The Loving Cup, and Bulldog Burgery, it was quite a step up from baked beans and hotdogs per the usual camping trip.

The energy was difficult to match and definitely something the second smallest state wasn’t prepared for. Brian O’Connell, President of Country Touring at Live Nation said, “The vibe of Delaware Junction completely blew me away. The sense of community was established immediately in the campgrounds on Thursday, and every artist could feel the fans’ commitment from the stage. Delaware Junction is not just another festival, the DJF fans have put their stamp of approval on this event, and it’s time to get back to work! The Delaware junction team is pleased with a festival well done and is eager to start working on next year’s event. Get a sneak peak at what you missed with the DJF’s preview video.
