Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem & More Headlining FYF Fest 2016

The 12th annual FYF Fest, is returning to it’s new home at Los Angeles’ Exposition Park August 27 & 28. The festival’s music lineup is an eclectic mix of indie bands, hip-hop and up-and-coming acts in the music festival circuit. Our city’s own version of Coachella minus the celebrities and models.

Although VIP and single-day tickets are already sold out, you can still scoop up two-day general admission passes for $199. That’s a small price to pay to see headliners like Kenrick Lamar, Tame Impala, LCD Soundsystem, and the legendary Grace Jones on one bill, plus a whole roster of KCRW-backed acts (like Beach House, Father John Misty, Grimes, and Blood Orange, to name just a few.) Year after year FYF books well respected and unique headliners, but also music acts that somehow resonate with the Los Angeles music scene.

Transportation: I enjoyed having the ability to take the metro and getting dropped off right outside of the festival instead of having to worry about driving, parking or waiting for an Uber or Lyft. Music festivals always cause major traffic in cities, so when festivals are located convenient to public transportation, I always feel like that’s the way to go!

What to bring: I usually bring a small backpack to carry a water, phone, disposable cameras, small snacks, hand wipes and hand sanitizer. Los Angeles has long, hot and humid summers so it’s important to stay hydrated and protect your skin from the sun with sunscreen and protective clothing (like sunglasses and a hat). If you have any other questions on what to bring or what to expect, check out the festival’s FAQ here.

Tickets: Single day and VIP tickets are sold out, but you can still purchase GA weekend passes for $199 plus fees aeg.festivalticketing.com
