Both acts will play exclusive shows at the festival, with Pendulum to perform live for the first time since disbanding in 2011
Following Knife Party’s release of their new EP ‘Trigger Warning’ the first to follow 2014’s critically-acclaimed debut album ‘Abandon Ship’, the duo have announced they are to play a landmark headline show at Ultra Miami 2016 – alongside legendary dance act Pendulum. Pendulum will be bringing back near-on a decade’s worth of both incredible music and memories to the stage, while Knife Party – formed by Pendulum members Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen in 2012 – are sure to feed into the buzz that has made them one of the most in-demand electronic acts in the world. With more exciting developments also soon to be revealed, their exclusive headline shows at Ultra Miami point toward 2016 being a landmark year for both Knife Party and Pendulum.
About Knife Party
Formerly members of influential drum & bass act Pendulum, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen formed Knife Party in 2012 and have since gone on to establish themselves as one of the most sought-after producer duos in electronic music. As unknown artists, their debut EP ‘100% No Modern Talking’ racked up over half a million downloads, with follow up EP ‘Rage Valley’ going Top 10 on iTunes charts in the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK. Remix work for the likes of Labrinth, Porter Robinson and Nero also followed, as well as a collaboration with Swedish House Mafia on global chart hit ‘Antidote’, before the release of acclaimed debut album ‘Abandon Ship’ in November 2014.
About Pendulum
Formed in 2002, Pendulum are widely regarded as one of the most influential dance acts of the last 15 years. Their 2005 debut album, ‘Hold Your Colour’, an upfront mix of drum & bass and electro house that soon came to be defined as the ‘Pendulum sound’, sold over 300,000 copies worldwide and spawned the band’s first ever Top 30 hit in ‘Slam’ / ‘Out Here’. Follow up album ‘In Silico’ scaled new heights, debuting at #2 on the Official UK Albums Chart and selling over 300,000 copies in the UK alone, before third studio album ‘Immersion’ went straight in at #1 in the UK in 2010. Revered for their extraordinary live shows too, Pendulum have also played some of the world’s biggest festivals including Glastonbury, Coachella, SXSW and Creamfields.
