Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival announced a series of exciting new acts to its lineup including The Whooligan, Tha Yellow R. Kel, The Black Madonna, Golf Clap, The Deep and Cranks. The festival, which will be held in nine different venues in the heart of Williamsburg, NY this Friday and Saturday, November 7 and 8, established itself in 2008 as a genre bending music event by bringing together fans to celebrate the city’s electronic music scene.
Additionally, Cahoots Records, a pioneering house music label based in New York City, will host a party at Stilton House at Output on Saturday, November 7. Parisian talents Ange Siddhar and Illan Nicciani will headline the special event and Sid Vaga and Steven LeTigre will support along with label owners Jon Billick and Brian Morse performing as Wreal.
The fest also announced its first-ever Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival app is now available for iPhone. The free app allows users to purchase tickets, select the artists they want to see, build their own schedule and – using the Recommender feature – receive recommendations of other artists on the lineup that they may also like. Festivalgoers can set alerts for their selected DJ sets, access artist bios and SoundCloud links as well as receive updates on Uber discounts, giveaways, festival news and more. The app also allows users to snap and share a BEMF photo with its Photo Booth feature, listen to the BEMF playlist and BEMF radio, navigate festival grounds with a Google map, communicate with BEMF and much more.
2013’s Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival was the most successful yet, with more than 8,000 people in attendance. Previously announced artists playing the festival this year include DJ Shadow, Gaslamp Killer and Booka Shade. For more information, you can visit the festivals website.
