Today, DJ Khaled will release his brand new single “For Free”, featuring Drake, exclusively on Apple Music/iTunes. “For Free” heralds the long awaited arrival of Khaled’s ninth full-length studio album and his first release under the newly minted joint venture between Epic Records and his own, We The Best Music Group—MAJOR KEY. This multi-platinum artist, music industry visionary, innovative influencer, mogul, and mega-producer has dominated cultural conversation across multiple forms of media in a way that only he can.
Zane Lowe premiered “For Free” on Apple Music’s Beats 1 this morning. After its initial premiere, the song debuted nationwide as part of iHeartRadio’s Top 100 Lift Program before spreading to Urban and Rhythm radio.
“For Free” continues a string of powerhouse collaborations between Khaled and GRAMMY® Award-winning multiplatinum rap God Drake. Following the platinum “I’m On One” [2011] and “No New Friends” [2013], he deftly architects a blockbuster anthem propelled by fiery verses and an inescapable hook. Both superstars have delivered “Another One!”
Up and coming, Khaled will star in his very first Apple Music television commercial alongside none other than supermodel Naomi Campbell. This hilarious and insightful vignette makes its debut imminently, kicking off a series of forthcoming commercials.
On Sunday, Khaled & Friends co-headline Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert at Met Life Stadium in New York City alongside heavy hitters such as Future, G.O.O.D. Music with Pusha T & Big Sean and many more. Primed to get the entire stadium on its feet, he’ll be bringing out all kinds of “family” for what’s poised to be a historic performance full of surprises.
Everything Khaled does becomes an event in and of itself. MAJOR KEY proudly upholds that tradition as he stands ready to change the game once again.
DJ Khaled permeates and delves into nearly every facet of pop culture. To date, his single sales exceed 15 million worldwide, spanning iconic anthems such as the triple-platinum “All I Do Is Win” and platinum “We Takin’ Over,” “I’m So Hood,” “Out Here Grindin,” “I’m On One,” “No New Friends,” and many more. In 2015, his eighth full-length, I Changed A Lot, bowed at #1 on Billboard’s Top Independent Albums Chart and #2 on the Top R&B Albums Chart, yielding two gold smashes “Hold You Down” and “How Many Times.” In addition to proudly holding the title of “the Quincy Jones of hip-hop and R&B,” He has become the undisputed king of Snapchat with 6 million-plus followers. His channel remains a bastion of positivity and inspiration sharing “major keys of success.” His “We The Best Music Group” was founded in 2006 and comprises not only the record label but a management company, publishing company, production company, and a full-fledged studio.
