îleSoniq festival is proud to announce the lineup of the festival’s second edition which will take place on Friday and Saturday, August 14 and 15 at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal. Last summer, Montreal’s new EDM and urban festival, brought together nearly 35,000 dedicated dancers and music fans at Parc Jean-Drapeau. With its impressive sets, state of the art LED screens, live artistic performances and awesome pyrotechnics, the îleSoniq festival quickly carved itself a place in the international festival circuit. In 2015, fans can expect once again an unforgettable festival experience in an enchanting site in the heart of Montreal.
2015 LINEUP
This year’s lineup at îleSoniq 2015 includes Canadian DJ and producer Deadmau5, as equally reknown for the mouse head he rocks on stage, as for his impressive sets. Also amongst the headliners, rap-rave South African band Die Antwoord, who has performed many times to sold out crowds in Montreal, leaving no crowd indifferent. English trance-progressive trio Above & Beyond will also be at the party, closing the festival on the main stage. Above & Beyond has been part of DJ Mag’s Top 100 Best DJs for many years and just ended a sold out tour including a performance at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Don’t miss Steve Angello, former member of Swedish House Mafia, who will present his solo hits; American DJ Kaskade whose new album will be released soon and Flosstradamus, the Chicago trap duo made of J2K (Josh Young) and Autobot (Curt Cameruci).
Also not to miss: Odesza, whose last performance in Montreal was at Osheaga 2014; Get Real, the underground project of house tech geniuses Green Velvet and Claude VonStroke and Kristian Nairn, Hodor in Game of Thrones, who will present his alias: Rave of Thrones.
For hip hop fans, New York based Azealia Banks will do us the honor of her first Montreal performance. The 2 brothers from Rae Sremmurd will also take part of îleSoniq 2015. The duo got a lot of attention in 2014 when Nicki Minaj and Pusha-T released a remix of their song “No Flex Zon”. The song eventually reached #36 in Billboard”s HOT 100 chart.
For the 2015 edition, îleSoniq offers carte blanche to Paris’ DJ Snake who has selected a collection of French artists to play on the Pardon My French stage on Friday. Amongst those selected are: Tchami, the biggest representative of future house, Busy P, who is behind the label Ed Banger, Amine Edge & Dance and Shiba San,the ambassadors of G-House as well as Mercer and Andrea. DJ Snake himself will close the stage with his first Montreal performance!
