LOUFEST IS THE GATEWAY TO THE MIDWEST

header-desktop1

The fifth annual LouFest Music Festival is only two months way. With headliners like Outkast, Arctic Monkeys, Cake, Grouplove and Matt and Kim this is not a Midwest festival you want to miss. The festival takes place on Central Field in Forest Park and offers music, food, shopping and recycling for all ages.

Three stages over two days show case a variety of types of music from funk to soul. The Nosh Pit provides festival goers with the best food from the many neighborhoods that make up St. Louis. Last year attendees noshed on everything from tacos to kale salads to St. Louis style BBQ and pizza.  A beer garden with local craft beer will be serving up libations all weekend. We can’t wait to see what this year’s Nosh Pit and beer garden have in store for our taste buds.

The Market Square at LouFest showcases the creative side of St. Louis. Art, accessories, clothes, and other awesome merchandise will be available for purchase from many different vendors. Rock & Recycle was implemented by LouFest to encourage everyone to recycle while at the festival. Visit the Rock & Recycle Center to pick up a bag to fill up throughout the weekend with recyclable cans and cartons.

Turn in your full bag and receive a commemorative event t-shirt!  Bikes are encouraged at LouFest. Bike parking will be available all weekend for those chose to ride to the festival instead of drive. LouFest also offer a children’s stage and a children’s village so families can get in on all the fun! Children 12 and under get in free of charge with a ticketed adult.  Please note, there is no camping in Forest Park, however there are camping options nearby or LouFest partners with hotels in the surrounding area to guarantee affordable rates for those traveling from out of town.

A Forest Park shuttle service will be available all weekend to make access to the festival easy for everyone.  Forest Park is one of the most visited public urban parks in the United States. It is not only home to LouFest once year but also home to five major cultural institution in St. Louis all year; The St. Louis Art Museum, The St. Louis Science Center, the Missouri History Museum, The Muny Outdoor Theatre and the St. Louis Zoo.  Attendees will not only be able to enjoy the music, food and shopping at LouFest but also the other attractions Forest Park offers.

Entry to all five institutions is free year round. There is still time to secure your spot at this year’s LouFest September 6 and 7.  Two day general admission and two day VIP tickets are available. Be sure to get your ticket before they sell out! www.LouFest.com
