Azealia Banks is Coming to the 310

Azealia Banks, Music Festival Goddess Indie rapper is coming to Los Angeles next month (July 11th) and I will be there. I could care less about her political views, witchcraft, or counter-productive twitter attacks. However, I do care about her music and want to give a her slow clap for pursuing her childhood dream of fame. I love rooting for the underdog; the survivor; and the stripper they call Babi. I have to believe that most Azealia Banks fans admire her courage, as well as her vulnerability. Admittedly, I had no clue who the fuck Azealia Banks was, until recently. Some might scoff, but, give me a break, I’m running a growing startup and my primary love is Progressive Metal.

Azealia Banks hit my radar when she was dropped by UK Born & Bred Music Festival. Tweets aside, not having heard the artist, I didn’t understand what all the buzz was. Checking out her music, I was hooked. When I heard 212 for the first time I was intrigued hearing a mix of white valley girl twang, melded with EDM and gangster rap.

Azealia Banks obviously marches to beat of her own drum, something most people wish they could do. Now that Azealia Banks has achieved a level of financial success she needs to be more strategic. This game of life is chess not checkers. The young artist must learn to fight the right battles and know when to retreat. As the Doors frontman Jim Morrison once said, “Let’s just say I was testing the bounds of reality.” I feel Azealia Banks is testing the bounds of controversy and freedom through her music and her interactions with fans and fellow artists. This boundary-pushing will either make or break audience’s perception of Azealia.It is my hope that she can coalescence her success into something more refined.

Anyway, I think the Azealia Banks Army will be delighted to see her in a more intimate setting like the El Rey Theatre. It will also give fans the chance to see deeper into who the artist really is and blush at their beloved Azealia.

Collaboration Idea: Azealia B and Sky Ferreira. This makes total since. They are both festival bad girls. Sky Ferreira was busted for possession of ecstasy and heroin while her and BF were headed to a festival gig. Azealia was suspended from Twitter after making a volley of racist and homophobic tweets and may even be band from the UK.

Azealia is 25 and Sky is 23. Sky Ferreira wants you to see her flaws while Azealia will point out your flaws. With Sky’s mezzo-soprano vocals and high range (E5) for chorus parts and Azealia’s lyrical prowess, I feel this is bad-girl collaboration made in music heaven or hell. If I was their manager, I would get them in the studio ASAP and create a full studio album or LP together. Release that in November 2016 and hit the global music festival circuit in 2017. Boom! Cha Ching$$$$
