Outside Lands Music Festival is back for its 7th year and the lineup is more dynamic than ever. Another Planet Entertainment, in partnership with Superfly, has prepared a lineup of artists and culinarians that will entertain all music fans, foodies, beer aficionados, and wine-os alike. With A-list musicians for your ears and a round-up of diverse cuisines for your taste, Outside Lands will continue to be one of the nation’s best and most recognized festival. And to top that off, its location in the heart of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco is difficult to beat.
Outside Lands has always featured musical acts from all genres, including indie rock, rock ‘n roll, electronic dance music, bluegrass, country, pop, and hip hop. Most notably about this year’s lineup is its focus on rap, where Kanye West is set to close out Land’s End stage on Friday night and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to close out Twin Peaks. Tiesto, Disclosure, and Duck Sauce will represent the EDM of the lineup, while Haim, Cut Copy, and Capital Cities will showcase their popular pop rock songs. Festival goers will be introduced to several Outside Lands newcomers and new Bay Area talent Finish Ticket and Tumbleweed Wanderers. Returning this year is the Heineken House, an enclosed dome with long lines of people waiting to dance in the dim-lit structure. Deejay Theory, The Scumfrog, and Cappa Regime are among the DJs to perform inside the dome. Accompanying the entertainment lineup just beyond McLaren Pass is Dr. Flotsam’s Hell Brew Revue, a collection of creepy carnival entertainment, soulful gypsy music, and interactive performances.
‘A Taste of the Bay Area’ will return with a range of food that highlights many cultural flavors and cuisines from Korea, China, Italy, India, and North America. Wine Lands features 36 local wineries, including: Hobo Wine Company, Wind Gap, Ghost Pine, and AP Vine, that will present the best of the reds and whites. For the beer aficionados, 30 breweries will be in attendance at Beer Lands including Calicraft Brewing Co., Anchor Brewing Company, and Stone Brewing Co.
Year after year, the festival features live paintings from local artists throughout the three-day celebration. This year, artist Jeben Berg with Juxtapoz Magazine will curate live painting and visual storytelling, art performances, and installations. The Barbary will continue to host, and co-curated by SF SketchFest, comedic acts including Garfunkel & Oates, Lewis Black, and Rory Albanese.
Outside Lands will occur August 8-10th on Polo Fields in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. For more information about the festival, its lineup, and other activities, visit www.sfoutsidelands.com.
