Rock in Rio, the legendary music festival, is giving fans an exciting preview of its Rock Street through a new commercial campaign being premiered worldwide through Yahoo! as well as airing on Las Vegas television affiliates. Captured recently at a special Rock Street unveil in Las Vegas, the spot gives a taste of the themed streets that will be incorporated into the City of Rock in May when the festival makes its U.S. debut.
Originally conceived by Rock in Rio founder Roberto Medina as a place inside the City of Rock where audiences and artists interact, Rock Street will feature an unprecedented three themed streets when it comes to Las Vegas for the first time, immersing attendees in a global experience capturing the sights, sounds and tastes of Brazil, the UK and the U.S.
Each of these cultural excursions will feature 20 houses filled with shops and restaurants highlighting the region, along with a stage in each that will host bands and artists throughout the day. From the sound sounds of New Orleans jazz to Irish bagpipers to a capoeira group dancing and battling on the streets, the commercial captures a bit of each region resulting from the recent performance of dozens of artists brining Rock Street to life.
Rock in Rio had previously taken over the airwaves with an action-packed commercial featuring Donald Sutherland that launched with its presale announcement. The spot, promoting the festival’s pre-sale vouchers, caught the attention of viewers nationwide with its fast pace and Hollywood-quality production values, all part of an overall $25 million mass media campaign.
Teaming up with entertainment giants MGM Resorts International, Cirque du Soleil and Ron Burkle (The Yucaipa Companies), Rock in Rio will bring its legendary festival to its new home on the Las Vegas Strip on May 8-9and 15-16, 2015.
