The addition of 30 new acts, including Just Blaze, Pional, Koreless & Emmanuel Biard, Nick Hook, and experimental trio Nazoranai, complete the 2015 Sónar line-up. There will be over 150 shows at the festival this year.
Sónar 2015 will include two new audiovisual dialogues at the festival. The first a collaboration entitled The Well by producer Koreless and visual artist Emmanuel Birad. The production promises a spiraling rhythms paired with an exciting light design. The second is an audiovisual dialogue adapted especially for the festival called Blueprint. The piece was created by artist Joanie Lemercier and musician James Ginzburg. The show is the story of the cosmos brought to life by projections on two lateral screens and a centeral monolith.
The line-up announcement includes hip-hop and analogic dance performances. Nick Hook will deliver an electronica set on the green dance floor of SonarVillage; DJ Raff will be at the festival from Chile to show his mix of hip-hop and dance music; and on Saturday night Southern Hospitality will showcase current hip-hop on the SonarCar stage.
New national artists were added to the line-up. Sónar strives to increase the domestic music scene and support national artists. National artists include the debut performance of Pional as well as Skygaze, Davic Nod, EVOL, Pedro Vian, Innercut, Downties, Collective+0, Blastto, Angela Mlina, Baldo, Cascales, Will Blake, Render b2b Veski, Uroz and Carreno Is LB.
The Red Bull Music Academy contributed to the addition of 10 new artists as part of the SonarDôme stage program. Two experienced acts, American hip-hop dj Just Blaze and super group Nazorani, will be joined by several emerging artists. These include Lost Twin, Teengirl Fantasy, Christian Kroupa, Olefonken, Adda Kaleh, Ah! Kosmos and Wife.
