Wychwood is one Britain’s best family festival as well as a weekend packed with workshops and activities. The year’s festivals includes The Children’s Literature Festival, yoga, circus skills, dance and so much more!
New acts set to play the main stage include Mad Doc Mcrea, Dr & The Medics, The Edwin Starr Band featuring Angelo Starr. The BBC Introducing Stage will return this year to showcase the talent from musicians around the UK. The Children’s Literature Festival is a new addition this year and will feature Wychwood’s first band entirely of authors along with many other activities. Attendees can look forward to clay modeling, willow weaving, Ukulele performances, Samba, face painting as well as 50 other activities and workshops. The festival runs May 29-31 at Cheltenham Racecourse.
The main stage this year will include a set made up of folk, pop, rock, jazz and bluegrass from Mad Dog Mcrea as well as a psychedelic rock performances by Dr & The Medics, The Outcast Band, The Going Goods, Talk in Code, and A Way with Words. A soulful set by Angelo Starr & The Team will also grace the main stage.
The BBC Introducing Stage will showcase the best up and coming talent across the UK. The line-up includes The Coomonjets, Emily Burn, James TW, Joe Dolman, Speak Brother, Grassroutes, Rosetta Fire, Yes Sunshine, Reece Bahia, The Folly Brothers, Clark Carmody, Cantaloop, Ronin, Tom Forbes, Interior Castle, 7shades, The Dale Von Minaker, Fictonian, Chase the Deer and Crowshaw.
The Hobgoblin stage adds Celtic rockers Hunter & The Bear, American folk bands Loud Mountain, The Black Feathers and Danni Nicholls. The stage will include sets from John Adams, Sophronie, James Michael, Cooper Black, Grace Palmer and George Montague.
The Children’s Literature Festival will include authors Anna Wilson, Ali Sparkes, Petr Horacek and Giancarlo Gremin. The Festival will also see appearances by Steve Antony, Steve Cole, Chris Edge, Paul Strickland, John Dougherty, Cathy Cassidy, Philip Adagh, Tracey Corderoy, Matt Brown, Tony de Saulles. Wychwood will introduce its first author band, First Draft.
The workshops will be brought to attendees by Stories from India, Bhangra Dance, Bollywood Heat Dance, Solo Circus, Circus Kaos, SamSam the Bubbleman, The British Ecological Society.
Food and drink will include the famous tea bus, The Tea Stop, as well as Pura Vida, vegetarian Mexican dishes, and wraps by Wrapper’s Delight
