Movement Music Festival returns Memorial Day weekend for another year of celebrating music culture in Detroit. Their limited release lineup teaser consists of 10 well notarized artists each to bring their own unique sound and contribution to the festival.

The 10 Artists on the Lineup Teaser

1. Adam Beyer

It would be a sin to not invite Adam Beyer, a staple in the techno realm, to a techno festival. With an extensive discography, Adam Beyer is expected to bring his percussion heavy sounds back for another round at the birthplace of techno.

2.THE BLACK MADONNA

Representing Chicago, the Black Madonna has been one of the underground’s treasures. She not only holds the title as the first woman to win Mixmag’s DJ of the Year award in 2016, she also holds residency at Smart Bar in Chicago as well as host of her own weekly radio show WSB RADIO.

3.BORIS BREJCHA

If you’ve never heard his music, you’ve probably seen seen his name on major festival lineups such as Tomorrowland and Time Warp. Boris Brejcha has quickly gained attention through his minimal techno style and shows no signs of slowing down. This will be his Movement debut and also a rare US stop for the European artist.

4. DJ STINGRAY

Detroit wouldn’t be the same without DJ Stingray’s contribution to the techno scene. His musical career was established in the 80’s with his most recent work in 2018. He continues to tour internationally showcasing his futuristic experimental electro style, bringing back it back home to Hart Plaza for the Memorial Day festival.

5. FOUR TET

Four Tet, Kieran Hebden, debuted his first single, a 36 minute track titled “Thirtysixtwentyfive” in 1998. The UK electronic music pioneer continues to push the envelope with his innovative style and improvisational sounds and shows no signs of slowing down.

6. KOBOSIL

Berghain resident and one of Techno’s fastest rising DJs and producers, Kobosil is widely known for pioneering a sound that is at once deep, fast and aggressive. Kobosil continues to make his imprint on the techno scene as he runs his own R-Label Group imprint used to promote other up-and-coming Berlin producers.

7. LOUIE VEGA

Deeply engrained in music history, Louie Vega has a diverse musical palette. With Grammy nominations and an award under his belt, the Bronx born house music legend brings his 20 years of experience to the Movement stage to celebrate music and bringing people together for the love of dance.

8. MACEO PLEX

In 2009, Eric Estornel, impacted the house scene as Maceo Plex. Eric had already made an impression on the electronic music industry with his successful techno project Maetrik but decided to explore a more sensual side of music. As Maceo Plex, he produced deep dark house and easily became a fundamental name in house music.

9. MARCO CAROLA

This Italian artist has extensive experience in the techno realm gaining him world recognition. Marco Carola is best known for his energetic sets and three-deck style mixing. His ability to work a crowd is favorited by many gaining him invitation to stages worldwide. With 5 critically acclaimed albums, many compilations, and a record label, the artist continues to make strides in the techno industry.

10. SETH TROXLER

Midwest born but internationally known Seth Troxler is an accomplished artist showing interests in a variety of fields. He runs three music labels, a restaurant, and is described as underground dance music champion. His creative and innovative process gained him the prestigious award as Resident Advisor’s number one DJ in the world in 2013.
