NERVO SET TO RELEASE DEBUT LP ‘COLLATERAL’ JULY 24

Since their club smash ‘This Kind of Love’ landed them at #1 on the world club charts in 2010, the Australian-native DJ/producer duo NERVO have been at the forefront of the electronic music scene. After capturing residencies at some of the world’s most exciting venues in Vegas and Ibiza and accumulating success in both the charts and via numerous media accolades, the sisters are becoming the highest ranking female DJs of all time in the influential DJ Mag Top 100 poll. After much anticipation, the pair is releasing their debut 15-track LP called ‘Collateral’ on July 24th.

The debut LP is hardly an introduction to electronic music for the two. The sisters began their music careers at the tender ages of 7, spending many years in music school, attending shows, and cultivating a growing appreciation for house music. The girls made the bold move to the UK at 19 to follow their dreams and pursue music. Upon arriving, the two spent all their time working—from bartending and waiting tables by day to writing and recording music at night; it is astounding the two had time to live the heartbreaks and life experiences they speak of in their songs. “We have a saying that goes, the harder you work, the luckier you get. We think it is a lot of hard work. You just keep working,” the girls say.

The hard work paid off as their writing skills have seen them pen hits for the likes of Kelly Rowland, Kylie Minogue, and Ke$ha, most famously the Rowland hit ‘When Love Takes Over,” co-written alongside David Guetta, a record that was also voted #1 dance-pop collaboration of all time. “We met David on Skype and what he didn’t know is that we had already seen him in Ibiza.  It was the beginning of a lovely friendship. We remember the very first studio session, where he had this massive studio in Los Angeles, which was a really big thing for us, because we were broke writers. To even be in a studio like that inspired us to work really hard and deliver great work,” says Nervo.

Not only are the pair stellar songwriters and singers, but are also extremely talented in their production skills and regularly headline shows and festivals worldwide, with recent appearances at Ultra Music Festical, Ushuaia, Ibiza, and TomorrowLand, as well as their residency in Omnia, Las Vegas. Their music has catapulted them into a world of appearances and stardom, fulfilling roles as brand ambassadors for Tag Heuer, Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky, and clothing company Franklin and Marshall.

Living a life on the road forced NERVO to create ‘Collateral’ in a variety of locations. Showcasing a refined musical outlook and sound, the album displays the personal and sonic journey the girls have encountered so far in their careers. The twosome says, “There is a mix of tracks on the album and all are intended for different purposes. That’s the beauty of working on an album! We didn’t need to just write tracks for the dance floor; however, all tracks whether they be in their original form or through a remix, will be played in our sets.” Detailing strong themes of girl power, falling in love, and heartbreak, the girls have freed themselves from the confines of purely club-based music. Irrespective of purpose, what is evident throughout the album is the songwriting skills and production talent of the two. Their diverse list of collaborators includes Nicky Romeo, Kreayshawn, and Nile Rodgers and the album features some of the tracks that helped hurl NERVO into stardom including their #1 hits ‘Reason’ and ‘Hold On’ coming alongside a bunch of new material including standout track ‘The Other Boys’, featuring Chic’s Nile Rodgers and vocals from Jake Shears & Kylie Minogue.

“All the relationships, all the lessons, all the hustle, the ups and the downs, it all feels like it is meant to be and is reflected on this album – Collateral,” says NERVO. Pre-order ‘Collateral now and receive ‘Hey Ricky’ in advance of release date. Listen to the four lead singles to be taken from the album so far, all accompanied by abstract, off-the-wall videos, to get a taste of what is to come with Collateral.
