AIM Electronic Music Festival Appeals to All Senses, July 14-16

AIM Electronic Music Festival

AIM Electronic Music Festival, returns this weekend, Quebec’s most immersive music and art experience,  on July 14, 15, and 16. Stationed at the historic Carillon Park, St-André-d’Argenteuil (just a quick drive outside of Montreal), AIM is a 3-day camping getaway appealing to all five senses.

Hearing

The first sense AIM calls to is, of course, hearing. Unlike other Canadian events, AIM Electronic Music Festival boasts 32-hours of non-stop music. The music marathon will take place from Saturday at 10:00AM to Sunday at 6:00PM. In addition, AIM will be hosting an impressive 80-artist line-up of underground house and techno. Such artists include Ame (live), Henrik Schwarz (live), John Talbot, Lee Foss, Nastia, Anabel Englund, Nic Fanciulli and more.

Sight and Touch

Next, AIM Electronic Music Festival appeals to attendee’s sight and touch senses through art installations erected throughout the festival grounds. Explore giant, captivating exhibits which illuminate as the evening descends. AIM, which stands for Art, Innovation, and Movement, is dedicated to supporting the arts through cutting-edge multimedia. In addition, the festival will hold educational, artsy workshops where attendees can express themselves and learn something in the process.

As an range of artwork catches your eye, so will the festival’s four stages. Each will feature out-of-this-world visual and lighting effects. With innovation being a key part of AIM’s mission, all stages will highlight the experience of live performance using  high-tech digital technologies.

Taste and Smell

Plus, in the midst of music and art, patron’s smell and taste senses will also be tempted. An array of gourmet food trucks will be rolling up to serve hungry festival-goers. That way, guests can indulge between sets in a variety of local and cultural food options.

Additionally, AIM Electronic Music Festival recognizes that food trucks (and camping) raise the issue of waste management. To remedy this, AIM has implemented its own Green Movement program.  This ensures that guests are able to enjoy the festival without leaving a negative imprint on the environment. Such an endeavor includes:

– A reusable cup program to eliminate nearly all plastic cups on site

– All on-site dishware being recyclable or compostable

– A public compost bin

– Blog entries and announcements promoting eco-responsibility

– An initiative encouraging attendees to turn in a piece of garbage to the AIM Green Booth in exchange for a gift

Tying all five senses together is AIM’s camping experience. It’s the opportunity to eat, breath, and sleep the AIM experience for all three days. Camping spots are on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you want to be close to your friends, arrive early! The festival’s camp grounds open as early as 3:00PM on Friday. Plus, campers are permitted to bring their own food and alcohol to be consumed within the camping grounds (not inside the festival).

There you have it! Touch, taste, sight, smell, and hearing—AIM Electronic Music Festival has it covered.

Phase 3 tickets start at $109. 95, with weekend and single-day tickets also available. For more information about the AIM experience, check out the official website.
