Less Than One Week Away: The Santa Barbara Polo & Wine Festival Debut

In just a few short days, on this Saturday, October 7th, 2017, The Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club will be bringing a new kind of festival to California. KCRW will present the Santa Barbara Polo & Wine Festival to attendees who want to live the polo lifestyle in an elegant atmosphere. Polo (obviously), local wine, and music will fill this one day event.

In fact, attendees can expect to watch two polo matches and have tastings from the finest wineries in Santa Barbara. The site will feature a careful curation of local food as well. Festival-goers can expect to see local contemporary California cuisine by Barbareno, Empanadas by Buena Onda, and Asian-inflected American plates from The Black Sheep. In addition, the event will also include musical performances by LP, Nick Waterhouse, Durand Jones & the Indications, Vieux Farka Toure and Macy Gray.

As a matter of fact, David B. Sigman, General Manager of the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club says, “We are thrilled to be hosting the first ever Santa Barbara Polo & Wine Festival here at our club.” He adds, “This is the first festival that we’ve held on the property and it is not only a perfect fit for our venue but also for our community in Santa Barbara. We are all looking forward to hearing the great music, tasting the delicious food offerings, drinking local wines and while watching the adrenaline sport of Polo. Please be sure to come out and enjoy the festivities with us.”

Attire

While the festival does not have a dress requirement, organizers encourage attendees to dress in the typical polo game attire. Generally speaking, the attire worn in the movie Pretty Woman gives a great example of attire worn at a polo game.

For more information on attire and polo terminology, visit the official event page.

Tickets

Tickets are on sale now starting at $75.00 (plus fees and taxes). GA, VIP, and Box Seat tickets can be found here.
