Coming to Chicago in early 2020, is a brand-new independently owned and operated music venue, that will occupy 55,000 square feet in the city’s Pilsen neighborhood. Radius is set to be a multipurpose event space, primarily focused on music with the capacity ranging from 2,500 to 3,800 people. The space is equipped with a state of the art D&B KSL sound system, exceptional acoustics, mezzanine level for VIP guests, lavish artist lounges, outdoor smoking section, and nine full bars.
The first set of shows at Radius include electronic music producer Dillon Francis, international house and techno legend Carl Cox, future house producer Tchami, American hip-hop artist Lil Wayne, metalcore band Killswitch Engage with August Burns Red and Light The Torch, punk rock bands Alkaline Trio and Bad Religion, and Australian psych-rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Previously an old steel factory, Radius has been transformed into a modern artistic space focused on and elevated music experience. Located in the Pilsen neighborhood, which was recently ranked as one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world by Time Out, is known for its eclectic and brilliant murals. Radius will feature those from the likes of Lefty Out There, Thank You X, and NYCHOS.
The mastermind behind this new music powerhouse has been involved in live music and events in Chicago for the past 20 years. Nick Karounos has been the owner and operator of Concord Music Hall, the MID, and PRYSM Nightclub and saw the opportunity for a large scale venue closer to the downtown area.
Within Radius is Cermak Hall, a 10,000 square foot multi-purpose event space featuring its own entrance, a full bar, and an additional stage. Cermak Hall will be used as a pre and post-event space with food and drink options allowing guests to enhance their experience. The space will also cater to numerous amounts of programming including weddings, conventions, corporate/private events and more.
Radius is located in Chicago’s East Pilsen neighborhood just south of The Loop bordering Chinatown with easy access off I-90/94. There will be a rideshare friendly pick up zone and a variety of parking options. Radius is easily accessible via various forms of public transportation, including the Halsted 8 Bus, Cermak 21 Bus, Orange/Red/Green lines.
