Chris Stapleton, acclaimed country music songwriter, has announced that he will release his debut solo album, titled Traveller, on May 5, 2015. Stapleton has written songs performed and recorded by some of American country’s top artists such as Kenny Chesney, George Strait, and Darius Rucker. Through recent events, Stapleton’s own image and talent caught up to his behind-the-curtain fame, launching him into stardom. For people who aren’t big on country music, think of him as country Sia. The highly anticipated Traveller will be released with 13 tracks on Mercury Records Nashville.
Chris Stapleton was born in Lexington, Kentucky and now resides in Nashville, Tennessee. He has been actively making music since the early 2000s and is widely known as the lead singer for bluegrass band The Steel Drivers who have been nominated for three Grammy awards and won an International Bluegrass Music Association Award.
Of his solo album, Stapleton commented, “This record was made standing on the shoulders of friends, family, and heroes.
