Infected Mushroom Friends on Mushrooms (Delux Edition)

Israeli psy-trance demigods Infected Mushroom are capping off their two-year, three-volume Friends on Mushrooms series with a 17-track compilation that promises to transport listeners to the depths of a mind-melting psychedelic wormhole.

Friends on Mushrooms (Deluxe Edition) combines songs from fan-favorite EPs Friends on Mushrooms Vol 1 – 3 alongside two exclusive new releases “Kafkaf” and “Kazabubu,” as well as Indaba remix contest winner RIOT’s rework of “Kipod.” The Deluxe Edition also marks the first time the Friends on Mushrooms series has ever been made available in CD format.

After pioneering the psy-trance movement nearly two decades ago, Infected Mushroom’s Deluxe Edition showcases a career spent straddling the line between mystical instrumentation lathered with exotic percussion, and experimental electronic arrangements brimming with flourishing synths. Twice ranked amongst the world’s “10 Best DJ’s” by the Bible of the Scene (U.K.’s DJ Magazine), Infected Mushroom’s 1999 breakthrough album The Gathering firmly established them in the goa / psy-trance world.

More recently, the hypnotic tag-team’s three-part Friends on Mushrooms release shredded charts across the genre spectrum. Namely, Vol. 1 reached #5 iTunes Dance Album chart and #7 Beatport Top 100, Vol. 2 reached #3 iTunes Dance Album chart, #3 Beatport Top 100 and #1 on both Beatport Dubstep Top 100 and Electro House Top 100, and Vol. 3 reached #3 Beatport Top 100, #1 Beatport Dubstep Top 100 and #2 Beatport Electro House Top 100.

Delivering their hallmark intergalactic sounds to the worldwide masses with an average of 120 performances per year, Infected Mushroom’s live show is characterized by extraordinary visuals and the creation of an immersive environment. For 2013’s “FungusAmoungUs” tour, stimulating 3D mapped visuals were landscaped onto pods projecting psychedelic visuals that became the backdrop for the sound, taking the audience on a trip to another world.
