Oliver Heldens’ acclaimed HI-LO project continues to deliver the goods with another innovative slice of cutting-edge bass music in the form of ‘Ooh La La’.
As indefinable as ever, this latest venture into HI-LO territory fuses elements of techno, electro, house and Heldens’ own inimitable special sauce to create another full-on dancefloor weapon. The track explodes into life with an intense, turbo-charged breakdown, before slamming down into a filthy mid-section of rasping, metallic synths, elasticated, wobbling bass and techy percussion.
Constantly morphing, evolving and building, the track teases with a mini build-up before we reach the intense crescendo of the track’s epicentre – ultimately pummeling us into submission with another meaty drop.
Support and big reactions come from a bewilderingly diverse range of selectors, from Green Velvet to Calvin Harris to Knife Party, Flux Pavillion to Hardwell, Boys Noize to BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard and many, many more.

With over 500,000 plays on YouTube and SoundCloud so far, it looks like it’s well on its way to becoming another smash for what began as a side-project but now looks set to be as much of a headliner as Heldens himself!
