T-R-O-Y-B-O-I. Coming straight from South East London, the multifaceted producer TroyBoi (a.k.a Troy Henry) makes music that goes against the grain. Since skyrocketing onto the scene in 2013, TroyBoi has left a distinguished mark on the music world with his unique productions that blend multicultural influences atop versatile, trap-infused beats. After releasing his debut album Left is Right in 2017, TroyBoi has appeared on lineups worldwide and gained support from some of EDM’s most popular acts including Bassnectar, who invited TroyBoi to play at his highly anticipated Spring Gathering last month in Chicago. Shortly after blowing the minds of Midwest Bassheads at Spring Gathering, TroyBoi released an all-new EP titled “V!BEZ” via T dot Music.
One of the strongest tracks on this new EP is “Sunsets in Costa Rica.” A dreamy vision that feels just as much like an end as it does a beginning. Another clear standout is “No Games,” a head-knocking three minutes of bass waves and London attitude. But if that isn’t enough, just wait until “Hey Bo!” and let that powerful bass surge through you. Closing out the EP, TroyBoi smooths it down and brings on the sultry vibes with “Spooky,” a sex-charged anthem featuring David Stewart.
“I’ve been exploring and creating various types of tracks, all with different V!BEZ to them,” said TroyBoi. “Since I ended up making so many different tracks, I struggled to choose which song I wanted to release first, so instead of trickling songs out one by one, I thought it made sense for me to release a few all at once.”
“V!BEZ for everyone. ‘Sunset In Costa Rica’ was made on my hotel balcony in Costa Rica overlooking one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. ‘Wickedest Bounce’–I love music from the 80’s (I’m an 80’s baby ) and wanted to put my spin on that era’s sound with a combination of elements. ‘HEY BO!’ & ‘No Games’ are for the bass heads. ‘Spooky’ feat my boy David Stewart is a song that we’ve both been dying to release for ages.
