NYLON celebrated Chicago’s biggest music festival weekend

NYLON celebrated Chicago’s biggest music festival weekend with an exclusive kick-off party on Thursday July 28, 2016. The invite-only event was held at Upstairs, the swanky speakeasy atop Virgin Hotel in downtown Chicago. British Musical Trio HÆLOS kicked off the night with a special performance with hits “Dust,” “Earth Not Above” and “Pray.” Model Margaux Brooke arrived ready to party with rock band Bastille who wrapped an epic performance earlier at the festival. Next, Dua Lipa took to the stage for an intimate performance in a hot pink NYLON inspired number.

The 20-year-old singer had the packed crowd singing along to her hits “Hotter Than Hell” and “Be The One.”American luxury fitness company, EQUINOX had an on-site paper fan customization station with graffiti artist, Brendan Cooney. Festivalgoers created a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork to use throughout the festival weekend. Next Australian alternative pop singer, Jarryd James took to the stage and performed “Do You Remember” and “1000x” from his recently released EP High. Standing front row, Margaux Brooke and Kyle J Simmons of Bastille watched in awe as they were serenaded to the sounds of James’ voice. Partying into the early hours of the morning as the lights went on to announce last call a huge dance party and conga line broke out lead by bands Bastille and Daughter. Rock band Bastille didn’t want the party to end as they continued to sing and dance until the venue was cleared out. STILLHOUSE WHISKEY provided the specialty drink experience with a sampling bar and branded photo booth. The exclusive party featured DJ sets by Leslie Kirchhoff.
