SoundScope launched recently out of beta and is publicly accessible via the iTunes App Store for free. SoundScope connects fans, DJs, and venues through its real-time platform that instantly allows users to find and interact with local DJs and venues.
The EDM industry was valued at over $6 billion by the end of 2014, and though the fast-growing popularity produced enormous opportunity, new problems were created. DJ and EDM culture is highly saturated and lives largely underground which makes discovery difficult. Pair that with New York City where the nightlife is constantly changing, finding DJs and venues can be problematic. Now, there is an opportunity for DJs to connect with their fans and venues in a geo-located, mobile environment. Through SoundScope, users can discover DJs and/or venues nearby based on genre or trending keywords. DJs and venues can connect with and engage their fan base through the innovative social dashboard.

Search and discovery is user-friendly and easy with pre-populated genre and description tags like “EDM”, “Funk” and “Beer Garden”. If users don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, the main interactive map shows all curated venues as well as DJs that are playing.

Standard search and discovery is available to anyone with SoundScope, however, fans can create a SoundScope profile by linking Facebook and gain access to the social dashboard. This enables the user to connect with and follow DJs/venues, save information, and interact. Fans can talk directly with friends and choose to share everything nightlife related on their socials via Facebook, Twitter, and FourSquare.
Fan Profile
DJs have the ability to create a specified DJ account that grants unique functions. These profiles detail background info, schedules, website, links to socials (Instagram, SoundCloud, Bandsintown, Resident Advisor), and gives fans the option to instantly post on Facebook or Twitter with mentions of the DJ. Operating a DJ profile also allows the opportunity to connect with venues and network to schedule more shows.

Venues benefit from SoundScope with individual pages that share upcoming and current events, specials, as well as general information and pictures. SoundScope’s geo-locational directory of DJs shows availability so venues can book talent in an easier and quicker way in addition to fan and patron marketing.
