The talented Rick Monroe just released a new single, “This Side of You.” This sultry song has become a popular hit with country music lovers and on the website, “Taste of Country.” It manages to impact emotion in men and women while  featuring Kristen Rogers, singer of “A Thousand Horses”, as a guest artist. Rick admits that the song is “…going over great at my live shows. It gets everyone on the dance floor, that’s for sure.”

“This Side of You” is just the first taste Monroe’ highly anticipated EP, GYPSY SOUL, which will be released soon. You can pre-order EP, GYPSY SOUL on Amazon now!

The Story Behind the Song

Monroe and his friends Jason Duke and Ryan Griffin wrote the hit song.  Duke and Griffin are also the masterminds behind “Dibs,” a Kelsea Ballerina’s smash.  A recent vacation Griffin and his wife took inspired the musicians. While on the trip, his wife let loose after drinking plenty of wine. How did this experience inspire the  song? Monroe explains, “We were just chatting before our writing session, and when Ryan said that he’d never seen that side of his wife before, I knew we had a great hook!”
