‘Tis The Season for #SG15

The holiday season is kicking off this month, starting with Thanksgiving next week (Gobble gobble), Christmas is just around the corner and New Year’s Eve will be here before you know it! With so many different events going on during this busy time of the year, why not treat yourself to a little extra excitement and check out a new festival this holiday season? We guarantee you will hands down have a much better time than if you settle for just attending your company’s holiday party. That being said, we’ve put together a short list of reasons why South Lake Tahoe is our top choice, and the overall best way to end 2015 with a bang!

Reasons Why Snowglobe This Year is Awesome:

  1. The Lineup!

If you haven’t checked it out already, please do so below:

This year’s lineup is like one they’ve never had before, including both up and coming acts as well as some pretty big name fellas. Some of our staff recommendations include Duke Dumont, Lane 8, Chet Faker, Jack U and Eric Prydz. If the names don’t sound too familiar, fear not for I’ve gone ahead and preselected some of my favorites to bring some pleasure to your ears and get you that much more excited about the festival. Feel free to check out the following playlist and familiarize yourself with some of the best sounds to be expected at this year’s Snowglobe NYE celebration.

2. Location

The location pretty much sells itself. If you’ve never been to Tahoe to begin with, let’s just say you need to make a trip over there very soon. Aside from being the home to Snowglobe, South Lake Tahoe has so much more to offer. With breath-taking views, snowboarding and skiing resorts galore, casinos, the lake, awesome restaurants and even more awesome vibes, what’s there not to like?!

Since the festival takes place during the evening hours of the day, you can keep yourself occupied by experiencing Tahoe during the daytime. Some of my personal favorite go-to spots in the area include:

Heavenly Resort

This place is great if you’re a skier or you snowboard and want to hit the slopes or just want to grab a nice lunch at a place with a cozy atmosphere.

Rubicon Trail

If you enjoy scenic hikes, especially in the snow, then this one is a must! Not only will you be able to take in all of the natural beauty Lake Tahoe has to offer, but you’ll also keep yourself warm and get your heart racing with this nice little workout.

Tahoe Best Friends

Do you feel bad leaving your dog home alone and want to be able to bring him/her with you on this trip but not have to worry about them once it’s time to get the party started? Well, you can do that by simply giving Tahoe Best Friends a call and arranging for them to care for your furry loved ones while you take the night off and are at the festival. You can assure that your dog will also have a blast as they get pampered by this great and friendly staff.

Base Camp Pizza

Do I even need to explain this one to you? Noms!

Macduffs

For when you just feel like going to a fun bar and getting a couple rounds of drinks.

3. Convenience

Did I mention all of the other fun activities you could be doing while you’re not at the festival yet? Not only is the location itself already pretty impressive, but if you don’t feel like going through the whole let’s get a group together and rent out a giant cabin through Airbnb thing (which is actually a pretty rad thing to do and I highly recommend doing), Snowglobe offers travel packages directly through their site, which include lodging and your festival wristband. If you don’t see something that suits your fancy, don’t panic as FestPop is here to help you make your dreams a reality as you can get your whole music festival travel accommodations squared away in just a few clicks, all in one place.

4. Comfort

Let’s be real here, do you really like the need to get all glammed up to have a good time? I personally think comfort is more important than style. Now, I’m not saying you can’t look cute and be comfortable, because you totally can. At a place like Snowglobe, comfiness overrules cuteness. By that, I mean there’s no need to starve yourself a week before the festival to feel comfortable in your own skin. My personal recommendations for feeling fab and comfy are investing in a Spirithood, like the one below.

Since wearing clothing is an essential part of being in the snow, and bundling up is highly encouraged, as it is crucial to survival, the crop tops will not be making an appearance here. This means you can enjoy yourself and all of the holiday goodies. So drink your hot chocolate, have a few extra of those sugar cookies your mom made for Christmas, and not have to worry about feeling bloated the day before you rage.

If you’re still not convinced, check out some past festival goer’s reviews and comments here or just spend some time browsing through the Snowglobe website and then try not to daydream about being there. Don’t miss out on the magic that takes place in South Lake Tahoe every New Year’s Eve and get your tickets before they sell out. Because who doesn’t love dancing in a winter wonderland
