Tyson Illingworth has been a leading name in the electronic music industry for 15 years. The Australian songwriter, composer, record producer and DJ tyDi has seen and done it all, but he isn’t stopping now. Dj tyDi has released five full-length albums, various singles and remixes as well as many EPs varying genres. His music has gained top spots on the global charts and toured all over the world leaving his famous mark on the music world. Continuing his success, he is releasing his unique sound on his new album, Collide. The album is set for self-release in early 2018 via Global Soundsystem Records.

The Making of Collide

On his new album, tyDi brings together electronic music and orchestral music through a brand new sound. With the incorporation of orchestral music, the music is built on precise composition, progressive musicality, magnificent sound design, layered songwriting and grand orchestral scoring. As an astonishing and successful musician on his own, DJ tyDi is a 2 X Grammy nominated award winning composer and seasoned vet Christopher Tin to help bring his upcoming album to the masses. Tin is well known for his composition and scores across the concert music, film, and video game industries. He also has won copious awards and honors. One of his most known awards was for his choral piece Baba Yet from the video game Civilization IV in 2011. This was the piece of music that won a Grammy Award for a video game. His album, Calling All Dawns, was awarded another Grammy Award for Best Classical Crossover Album in the same year.

“When you watch a film with an intense score, you’re swept away to a different planet. The atmosphere, emotions, melodies and instruments captivate you. That feeling doesn’t always enter the dance realm. I wanted to capture that magic and bring it to the electronic world,” tyDi says.

“Closing In” and “Did You Know?”

His first single from is album, “Closing In,” features Dia Frampton. This was one of the only two dance songs to be featured in Spotify’s coveted New Music Friday Playlist on the day of its release along with “Did You Know?” In his new music, he got the chance to combine his trance roots with an orchestral twist: Chunky synthesizers and futuristic sequencers build a digital playground as lush strings and horns paint a cinematic backdrop while singer London Rouge angelically coos of love and longing.
